  10. StuffIt Deluxe™, the new generation of the Macintosh standard for compression,
  11. security, and archiving.  StuffIt Deluxe is the first product to directly
  12. address the two potential benefits of compression —increased disk storage space
  13. and network/communications file transfer.  As a bonus, the Magic Menu™ Finder
  14. Extension lets users compress and/or EMail files without ever leaving Apple’s
  15. Finder.

  17.    This $99.95 utility will compress files up to 98% (with an average of 50%)
  18. and applies special compression on color graphic and sound files.  Multiple
  19. files and folders can be compressed into one or more archives, where they can
  20. be sorted, copied, moved, renamed, or deleted.  These archives directly assist
  21. in disk organization and space savings, EMail or modem file transfers, and ease
  22. of backup.  StuffIt is the international standard as the only accepted method
  23. of file compression and archiving on hundreds of network and BBS systems
  24. including CompuServe, GEnie, and America Online. Additional multi-platform
  25. support gives StuffIt Deluxe access to archives created on the IBM PC, VAX,
  26. Amiga, Atari and other computer systems.

  28.    StuffIt Deluxe is also a powerful security product, providing password
  29. protection and encryption of archives to keep them away from prying eyes.
  30. Together with encryption, a “Signature” feature makes StuffIt Deluxe the only
  31. Macintosh product that can assist in authenticating the creation and subsequent
  32. ownership of a file. Since file transfer is a popular part of StuffIt Deluxe,

  55.   • Text and PICT Viewers allow one to view the contents of compressed files

  57. PICT documents, while a special “Read Me” feature automatically presents any
  58. user with the ‘must see’ information upon opening the archive.  Text-based
  59. ‘form’ examples on disk include a “Print Job Read Me” for sending compressed
  60. files to an output service,

  62. HyperTalk-like language is simple enough for anyone to use,

  64. “Signatures.”  This security feature allows individuals and corporations to

  66.   • Virus Detection which warns the user if any known virus or unusual

  68. award-winning anti-virus utility is provided in the StuffIt Deluxe box to

  85. Macintosh family computer with a minimum of 1 Megabyte RAM memory and two 800K
  86. disk drives (or one 800K drive plus Hard Disk) is required.
